El objetivo de este estudio es detenninar si el coeficiente de la diversidad genealógica puede utilizarse como estimador de la varianza genotípica en el rendimiento de trigo. Para este propósito, se emplearon datos de la diversidad genética de 12 años del ensayo de rendimiento de selección élite de trigo harinero (Triticum aestivum L.) (ESWYT) del CIMMYT. El promedio de coeficientes de diversidad, definido como el índice de diversidad genealógica fue calculado a partir del promedio de coeficientes de parentesco de los materiales del ESWYT. La relación entre la varianza genotípica del rendimiento en trigo y el coeficiente de diversidad promedio, evaluada por medio del análisis de correlación, fue significativa (r = 0.63, a = 0.029) . Este resultado apoya la idea de que los datos relacionados con la diversidad genealógica pueden aportar información útil para el mejoramiento del rendimiento en trigo. No se encontró alguna tendencia significativa a través del tiempo, lo que indica que tanto la diversidad genealógica como la varianza genotípica de los genotipos del ESWYT fueron constantes. |
