Summary, etc. Maize trials were conducted in Giessen during the period 1982 to 1987 to investigate the influence of weed control on erosion processes. After preemergence -treatments of Atrazine the erosion of soil, nutrience water and Atrazine was very high. After postemergence -treatments, hoeing or band-applications + hoeing these erosion processes could be reduced greatly. The maize yields were not negatively effected by this form of weed management but they were even increased
