En este trabajo se demuestra el uso de modelos de simulacion en computador para determinar el potencial de adeptacion de los genotipos de maiz en diferentes localidades de Centro America y Mexico. Para todos los analisis presentados se utilizo un genotipo de 18 hojas cuya descripcion es adecuada para un material subtropical de madurez Intermedia o un material tropical de madurez precoz a Intermedia. El modelo de simulacion presentado en este trabajo ilustra la variabilidad en la fecha de antesis que puede resultar de la varincion inter e intra anual en clima.
