Los rendimientos promedios de maiz en la region de Centro America son de 1.5-2.0 t/ha, lo que implica un bajo numero de plantas y/o mazorcas cosechadas por area. Se efectuo un monitoreo dinamico para examinar los procesos de elaboracion del rendimiento y sus componentes en 28 campos de agricultores o parcelas de validacion de maiz de la region. Se monitorearon 5 o 10 estaciones lineales de 3 o 5 m de largo dentro de un area preestablecida de 100 m2 en cada campo. Comparaciones entre las parcelas lineales con la final de 100 m2 indicaron sobre-estimaciones de 10% en las parcelas Iineales para la densidad de plantas (Pl/m2) y el rendimiento. El CV se mantuvo |
