En la region de Centro America cerca del 60% del maiz se siembra en suelos de ladera, tipicamente con metodos que erosionan rapidamente los suelos. Ante este contexto, el PRM ha impulsado investigacion sobre la labranza de conservacion usando de los residuos del cultivo antetior como mantillo superficial debido al potencial de inmobilizacion de parte del N disponible por la descomposicion del mantillo, el objetivo de este trabajo era enfocarse en esta interaccion.
