Summary, etc. In pot trials, N fertilisation did not prevent losses in spring wheat cv. Broom in A. fatua infested pots, although crop yield increased. At the highest Nand weed density levels, yield was decreased compared to the medium rate of N and same weed density. Yield losses in non arable soil were generally greater than in arable soil. In A. myosuroides infested pots the growth and yield of wheat increased more than the weed. In non arable soil and under low N conditions the growth of A. myosuroides was suppressed more than that of the crop or A. fatua. The order of susceptibility of plants to soil type seemed to be A. myosuroides >wheat >A. fatua. In a
