Respuesta del frijol Phaseolus vulgaris L., en asociación con maíz Zea mays L., al ataque del picudo del ejote Apion godmani Wagner - México, DF (México) CIMMYT : 1998 - Printed - CIMMYT NRG Copublicación ; No. 98-02 .

Bean genotypes Amarillo-155, Pinto Texcoco, Mexico-332, Puebla-36, Tlaxcala-62, Hidalgo-58, and APN-18 (all supposedly resistant to Apion gudmani) and Canario-107, Jamapa, and Zacatecas-45, (suceptible) were intercropped with maize variety VS-22 at Santa Lucia de Prias, Mexico. The resistant genotypes were Amarillo-155, J-117, Pinto-168, Pinto Texcoco, Mexico-332, Puebla-36, Tlaxcala-62, and Hidalgo-58. Two resistance mechanisms were displayed by Amarillo-155, J-117, Pinto-168, and Hidalgo-58: oviposition-inhibiting antixenosis. Puebla-36, and Pinto Texcoco owed their resistance to the mechanisms of oviposition-inhibiting antixenosis.
