Impact of irrigated improved wheat varieties on reducing cost of production and increasing of return
Place of presentation: 2nd International and 14th National Iranian Crop Science Congress. Aug.30 - Sep.1. University of Guilan, Rashi-Iran.
The objectives of this research were to determine shift of supply function for wheat varieties and impacts of wheat breeding varieties in reducing cost, determining profitability indexes of released irrigated bread wheat varieties in breeding program. Wheat varieties including 4 varieties of released irrigated bread wheat in breeding program in Seed and plant improvement institute(SPII) and Agricultural Research Center in 2014. The methodologies of this research were using of Ex-ante and Ex-post methods. Measuring creterias of these methods are including quantity of shift in supply curve, cost-benefit analysis and internal rate of return of varieties. According to the results, reduction of cost for released varieties including Mehregan, Shush, Bharan and Narin varieties was estimated 184.9, 107, 600 and 735.7 rials, respectively. The mean of shift in supply curve for Mehregan, Shush, Bharan and Narin varieties was estimated %4.7, %1.9, %5.7 and %6.4, respectively. Net present value(NPV), Benefit- Cost ratio and Internal rate of return for released irrigated wheat varieties(4 varieties) in 2014 was estimated 1193.1 (billion rials) , 5.6 and 48.5%. Net present value(NPV), the mean of Benefit- Cost ratio and Internal rate of return of varieties with international origin was estimated 906.4 (billion rials) , 6.1 and 49.6%. Net present value(NPV), the mean of Benefit- Cost ratio and Internal rate of return of varieties with national origin was estimated 415.2 (billion rial) , 7.7 and 51.1%.
