Bajaj, Y.P.S.

Regeneration of genetically variable plants from the anther-derived callus of Arachis hypogaea and Arachis villosa - 1981 - Printed

6 ref.; Summary (En)

Androgenesis has been induced in the anther cultures of a tetraploid (Arachis hypogaea) and a diploid (A. villosa) species of peanut. The pollen underwent repeated divisions, resulting in the formation of pollen-embryos and callus. The growth response was genotypic. The callus and the regenerated plants were mixoploid, and showed a large genetic variation, ranging from haploids to octaploids
