The Authors refer about a four years research aimed to evaluate grain growth of five cultivars of durum wheat, Amedeo, Messapia, Karel, Capeiti and Creso, different for morphological characters. Results have shown a direct influence of air temperature on lag, EFPD and GFR. Both EFPD and GFR have been significantly correlated to number of kernels per spike and grain yield. It was observed, finally, a highly significant correlation between GDD and kernels growth
