2 tables; 8 ref. Summary (En)

Opale and "Onyx" are durum wheat varieties derived from an interspecific hybridization between Triticum aestivum and Triticum durum made for breeding purposes. These two varieties were crossed with two tetraploid lines originated from Ethiopia (ENSAT-487 and ENSAT-508) both rich in protein and ENSAT-508 resistant to several diseases. Selection was made on a 10% basis in the F2 populations and in next generations for plant height, ear length, seed size and diseases resistance. Selected F5 lines obtained from three combinations of crosses between the above mentioned varieties were compared with their parents for several agronomic characters, seed
