Barley was inoculated in the seed bed with a mixture of Glomus mosseae, G. fasciculatus and Gigaspora margarita or with the indigenous mycorrhizal fungi and grown in 1.0 m('2) field plots. The introduced fungi stimulated seed yield by 27 and seed phosphorus content by 35. A precrop with Kale had no significant effect on responses to inoculation
