Time of ploughing and fertilizing maize, after growing wheat in a conventional way and on the shallow tillage, has a significant effect on the maize yield. The highest maize yield is obtained by ploughing and fertilizing in autumn and spring. The depth of the soil ploughing, after growing wheat in a conventional way on the shallow tillage, has a significant effect as well. The highest maize yield in the combination after wheat is obtained in autumn at the depth of 30-35 cm. The time of ploughing and fertilizing maize in the previous year has no effect on the wheat yield in the following year. The depth of tillage for maize has no effect on the yield of
