In eight hybrids of the type (wheat X rye) X triticale, chromosome number varied from 37 to 51 but plants with 2n euploids had the best grain set but some hybrids with 2n close to the euploids in grain set. The mean number of bivalents per cell at metaphase I of meiosis was 18.5-20.3. The frequency of metaphases with 21 bivalents did not exceed 13% in most populations. Lagging of 1-14 chromosomes atanaphase I was observed. The first and second meiotic divisions frequently endedwith the formation of micronuclei in the dyads and tetrads, and sometimes with the formation of triads or polyads.
