Callus initiation from immature embryos and subsequent plant regeneration were investigated in 7 inbred T. aestivum lines and in T. spelta, with and without supplementation of the medium with coconut milk. Varietal differences and genotype X coconut milk interactions were significant. Development of primordia and shoots was promoted by coconut milk in some lines and inhibited inothers.
