Chromosomal location of peptidase, PEPT 1, genes in Triticum aestivum var. Chinese Spring - 1986 - Printed

Ditelocentric accessions of Chinese Spring were analysed electrophoreticallyfor peptidase (PEPT) and aminopeptidase (AMP) activity. Isoenzymic activity could not be detected in accessions CSDT6AS and CSDT6BS when stained for PEPT. This is taken as evidence that the structural genes encoding PEPT isoenzymes arelocated on the long arms of chromosomes 6A and 6B;the genes are designated Pept A1 and Pept B1, respectively. Isoenzymic activity could not be detected in accession CSDT6BL when stained for AMP. This result is taken as confirmation of the previously published location of Amp B1 on the short arm of chromosome 6B [see G. E. Hart, Stadler Symposium 11,
